Recently one of users of DJ Catalog extension (thanks John!) reported bug regarding 404 errors while using SEF links in Joomla.
The issue appeared when he named the link "Components". All other link worked properly and the one named "components" didn't, check what he discovered:

The answer: It's because, coincidentally, the link was named "Components"!

I suspect when the link is named any iteration of "component", there must be some mixup with the SEF urls and the actual Joomla Components themselves!

I've have verified that simply changing the name of the ALIAS field (to 'ivarscomponents') in the Menu Item causes the error to disappear! My Menu Item itself is still named "Components" and it works fine.

I'm not sure how many other customers besides myself would ever be affected by this, but there it is. You may not even need to look into this.

So essentially problem solved, everything working great and thanks for trying to sort things out for me.
