DJ-Catalog Major Update

DJ-Catalog was just updated with fixes, languages and new features.

CHANGES:

Changed: fixed minor issues in component and mod_djfrontpage
Added: Joomfish support. Copy all XML files from/administrator/components/com_djcatalog/translation/ to /administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements/
Added: Possibility to change decimal and thoundsand separators (DJ Catalog->Parameters)
Added: SEF Urls ('alias' field in __djcat_items and __djcat_categories table)
Added: Italian language (without front side)
Fixed: lots of bugs & warnings
Fixed: pagination issues in mod_djfrontpage module
Changed: 'Basic' and 'Component' Parameters in 'Menu Manager' are more user friendly.
Changed: Category tree is now replaced by drop-down list (Administrator->Components->DJ Catalog->Items)

UPGRADE NOTES:

1. Because of minor changes to table structure, make sure to add 'alias' field into #__djcat_items and #__djcat_categories table in your MySQL database.
You may use following SQL script (replace 'jos' with proper DB prefix if necessary):

ALTER TABLE `jos_djcat_items` ADD `alias` VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL AFTER `name`;
ALTER TABLE `jos_djcat_categories` ADD `alias` VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL AFTER `name`;
--

2. Make sure to re-save component parameters and menu items pointing to DjCatalog after upgrade process.

SEF links issue

Recently one of users of DJ Catalog extension (thanks John!) reported bug regarding 404 errors while using SEF links in Joomla.
The issue appeared when he named the link "Components". All other link worked properly and the one named "components" didn't, check what he discovered:

The answer: It's because, coincidentally, the link was named "Components"!

I suspect when the link is named any iteration of "component", there must be some mixup with the SEF urls and the actual Joomla Components themselves!

I've have verified that simply changing the name of the ALIAS field (to 'ivarscomponents') in the Menu Item causes the error to disappear! My Menu Item itself is still named "Components" and it works fine.

I'm not sure how many other customers besides myself would ever be affected by this, but there it is. You may not even need to look into this.

So essentially problem solved, everything working great and thanks for trying to sort things out for me.

Dj-Catalog SQL/bsql Injection Multiple Vulnerability fix

Yesterday evening a bug in our DJ-Catalog component was found - SQL/bsql Injection Multiple Vulnerability.

The issue is now fixed.

You can download the latest versions of the extension from our download section, or overwrite files in your current installation to avoid risk.

The files you should overwrite in /components/djcatalog/ folder can be found here.

The extension is still beta version, we're working on improvements all the time.

Joomla 1.5.14 [Wojmamni ama naiki]

joomla_1514_released New version of Joomla released.

It's been only 8 days since previous version was released on July 22.

Joomla 1.5.14 fixes two bugs found in 1.5.13 version and one low level security issue.

Looks like there will be more updates before Joomla 1.6 beta.

Joomla 1.5.13 released

security_release There is a fresh release of Joomla - 1.5.13 [Wojmamni ama baji].

This is probably the last release before Joomla 1.6.

This is a security release and users are strongly encouraged to upgrade immediately.

Joomla 1.5.12 TinyMCE problems

With the newest Joomla update there comes the default editor - TinyMCE - bugs.

The problem appears with fresh Joomla 1.5.12 installation and also with upgrades.

Problems that are most often reported are:

When creating new article, TinyMCE is not there
changes in editor are not being saved
problems with installing new plugins
error messages in IE7/Firefox/Opera

On official Joomla forum there was a discussion about this issues, one of the solutions was to upload plugin files from previous Joomla version (1.5.11).

joomla_1512_released The new version of Joomla - 1.5.12 (Wojmamni Ama Woi) has just been released. It's not even month from the last update.

This version contains few bug fixes and security fixes.

Among others this release contains an important update to TinyMCE v 3.2.4.1 plugin and fixes to built-in templates.
